Freshteam makes it very easy for an employee to apply for time off. There are two easy ways to do this using the desktop UI. 


Option-1: Applying for today’s date (Quick Apply)

  • Go to your Dashboard and find the Quick Apply option on the top right side of the screen. 



  • Choose the time off type by picking from the drop-down that appears on clicking on the time off type that appears by default.

  • Click on the ‘Apply now’ button.

  • You would see a confirmation popup. Click on ‘Confirm’ to instantly apply time off for the current date. 


Option-2: Applying for another date

  • In the top right of the Dashboard, click on the ‘Apply for another date’ option from the ’Quick Apply’ box. 



OR

Alternatively, you can go to the left menu on your dashboard, and click on the Time off -> My time off option, and then click on the ‘Apply Timeoff’ button on the top right part of the screen.  




  • This would open up a slider to fill in the time off details. 


  • Enter the date or the date range for which you want to apply for a time off. 


By clicking on the ‘Plan for Partial Day’ option, you can even apply for half day time offs at the start or/and end of your vacation. 


NOTE In case your company supports hourly time off, clicking on ‘Plan for partial day’ option would give you an option to choose time off in hours for the first and the last day of your vacation.

  • Select the time off type that you want to apply for. In case you do not have sufficient time off balance for the selected type, you would be shown an error message saying “Insufficient balance” 

  • Fill in the following optional steps if relevant to your time off application.

  • You can also add a note highlighting more details about your time off request. 

  • You can also attach a supporting document along with your leave request. This is helpful in case your company mandates a supporting document for applying for specific time off types. 

  • You can notify your team members about your time off request by entering their email Ids in the ‘Notify Others’ section. 

  • You can mark yourselves as Out-Of-Office in your work calendar. You would see an option to link your calendar with Freshteam once you choose this option. Currently Freshteam supports integration with Google Calendar and Microsoft Calendar. You would also see an option to auto-decline all meetings that you are scheduled during your time off.
